Tame the Flame: 5k Fun Run/Walk

Come support a local Fire Department for there third annual 5k Tame the Flame event. You will get a t-shirt for signing up for this event also, and a chance to win a door prize!. Please arrive at 9:30 am or earlier to register for the event. You can also register online at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/5k-tame-the-flame-tickets-48678232905 . Start at the Park Ridge Fire Department, then run through the Village of Park Ridge into Iverson Park, on to the Green Circle to the bridge on Patch Street, and return to the Park Ridge Fire Department. Refreshments and food are available after the run.

Bring your children along for the Kids Fitness Challenge from 12:00 pm until 3:00 pm. The challenge is free, but a waiver is required by a parent/guardian. Have your kids test there skills out at the smokehouse and firefighter themed fitness stations, and enjoy CPR demonstrations and meeting Smokey the Bear and McGruff the Crime Dog.

Central Waters River Run

Course Description: 5 mile route follows along scenic country roads during the height of fall color season, crossing the Tomorrow River twice.The course is mostly flat with small hills, and the race will be professionally timed.

Arrival: Please arrive early and expect lines at registration as the race will begin at 10 a.m. sharp. At registration, you must present your ID AND GET WRISTBANDED! Allow yourself time to return your race swag to your vehicles before the race.

Times:

  • 9am - Kids (5-10 yrs) 1K Falcon Fun Run
  • 10am - 5 mile Competitive Run
  • 10:05am - 2 mile Non-competitive Walk/Run, untimed

Awards: Unique and coveted awards are given to overall male and female winners and top three male and female finishers in each age group for the 5 mile run. 10 year age increments and prizes are awarded for the top three runners in each bracket.

Parking: Parking is available near the brewery and carpooling is strongly encouraged!

Proceeds: All proceeds of the River Run will benefit the Jensen Community Center, other participating youth groups, and several area school clubs.

Chili Challenge

This is our twentieth year renting the ski lodge to have a chili cook off plus we set-up for a ~24 hole tournament layout for the day. We offer two distinct rounds, singles in the morning and doubles in the afternoon with awards for both.
One entry enters you into both events. We always have a gas.
Bring your favorite chili, a side dish or just your appetite!
We will have lots of prizes, food and beverage. Most everyone should go home with something besides a full stomach.

Registration covers both morning and afternoon round
Play both rounds for an entry fee of only $40
Interest is high, so pre reg w/ Randy early ($$, name and div)
Saturday Schedule:
8:30AM Sign-up for singles tournament.
9:00AM Singles tournament Pro, Adv and Intermediate divisions
11:30-1:30 Chili tasting and socializing. Rank your favorite chili
1:30-4:30 Seeded doubles tournament

Moon Walk

Enjoy a moonlit walk along the Tomorrow River State trail. 12 mile starts at 6pm,4 and 8 mile start at 7pm. Carved pumpkins mark your miles. Halloween costumes are welcome.Port-a-Potties and refreshments available along the trail.
