Active Portage County and Walk Wisconsin invite you to join us for PedaLoops, Central Wisconsin's Spring Cycling Tour on Saturday, May 13. This ride will consists of cycling three routes that loop the hilly terrain around Standing Rocks County Park, just seven miles east of Plover/Stevens Point. Dust off your bike and enjoy this fun road bike tour with a variety of mileage options.
Ride as many loops and miles as you want, all circling back to the Standing Rocks Park for nature and food stops. Rest stop open 8am-4:30pm. There will be three short and unique loops of approximately 20 miles each, two of which offer longer loops for those wanting extra miles. Helmets and adherence to rules are required.
The blue "shady roller" 19 mile route will be a good warm up with half flat and half rolling hills.
The red "small town" 20, 25 or 40 mile route will go through several Central WI towns with moderately hilly terrain.
The green "Waupaca and Backa" 17, 24 or 35 mile route will be the hardest with the long loop heading past Hartman Creek State Park and through the Chain of Lakes near Waupaca.
Maps and well marked roads will guide you as you get reacquainted with your bike seat for the year. There will also be a sag service if needed. If you are not from Central Wisconsin, you will be surprised by the good roads and low traffic areas of Portage and Waupaca counties. We want you to experience the farms, fields lakes and streams that run through the rolling hills of Central Wisconsin.
